TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2025: Detailed Eligibility Criteria for Aspirants

Essential qualifications, age limits, and physical standards for TNUSRB SI applicants.

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) has officially started the recruitment process for the post of Sub-Inspectors (Taluk & Armed Reserve) for the year 2025. Candidates aiming to apply must ensure they meet all the eligibility requirements, which include educational qualifications, age limits, and physical standards, as outlined in the official notification.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by a recognized university under the UGC or Government of India. The degree must follow the 10+2+3/4/5 pattern, or a 10+3+2/3 pattern in the case of diploma-holders. Degrees from Open Universities without this structure are not accepted for this recruitment.

In terms of age, the minimum requirement is 20 years and the maximum is 30 years as of July 1, 2025. Candidates should be born between July 2, 1995, and July 1, 2005. However, age relaxations apply. Candidates belonging to Backward Class (including Muslim), Most Backward Class, and Denotified Communities are eligible up to 32 years of age. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyar), and Scheduled Tribes have a higher upper age limit of 35 years. Destitute widows can apply up to the age of 37, and Ex-servicemen and ex-personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces are eligible up to the age of 47.

Physical standards are also critical. Male candidates should have a minimum height of 170 cm, while female and transgender candidates must have at least 159 cm. Additionally, male applicants must have a chest measurement of 81 cm with a mandatory expansion of 5 cm. Relaxations in these physical criteria are available for candidates from SC and ST categories.

The selection process includes a written test, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Endurance Test (ET), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Viva-Voce. Aspirants are encouraged to carefully read the official notification and prepare in alignment with these standards to increase their chances of success in the selection rounds.
