Odisha to Deploy AI Officers Across Government Departments: Discover How!

AI Officers aim to transform Odisha’s governance by 2025.

On May 28, 2025, the Odisha Cabinet took a significant step towards digital governance by approving the Odisha Artificial Intelligence Policy-2025. This policy aims to integrate AI technology across all state government departments to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

As part of this initiative, each department will now have a dedicated AI Officer, supported by a team, to spearhead the incorporation of AI solutions into daily operations. These officers are chosen based on their expertise in technology and are tasked with leading digital transformation efforts within their respective departments.

The establishment of the Odisha AI Mission underlines the state’s commitment to becoming a frontrunner in AI adoption. This mission, structured with a high-level AI Taskforce and an operational AI Cell, will pilot AI use-cases in critical sectors such as healthcare and education.

The policy not only focuses on technological advancements but also emphasizes ethical AI use, robust data governance, and skills development among government personnel. This holistic approach ensures a secure, efficient, and responsible AI ecosystem.
