The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced significant changes to the IBPS PO Mains 2025 exam pattern. Furthermore, the total duration of the Mains examination has been extended. Candidates now have 180 minutes for the objective tests plus an additional 30 minutes for the descriptive paper, summing up to a total of 210 minutes. The exam also introduces a revised sectional structure, dividing key areas such as Reasoning & Computer Aptitude and English Language into two sections, with mandatory questions varying between 1 and 2 marks.

Additionally, the revised format includes a penalty for incorrect answers in the objective tests, deducting 0.25 marks for each wrong response. These changes are designed to make the screening process more stringent and aligned with the skills required in modern banking services. Candidates are advised to visit the IBPS website regularly for further updates and to align their preparation strategies with the new format. The upcoming Mains exam is scheduled for 29th November 2025.
